AND THEN THE COLOR LEFT
And just like that the amazing color was gone. All that was left was downtown LA, shrouded in fog.

CLOUDS ON FIRE
This was my favorite moment of the morning. The sky exploded in color and then slowly faded away as the sun rose higher in the sky.

Shrouded Skyline
The clouds made the sky explode with color. The fog gave downtown an eerie look.

LA Dawn
I love the Hollywood Bowl Overlook so much that I went back the next morning for sunrise. The weather gods were fickle this morning. Downtown was shrouded in fog but it led to some amazing colors.

LOS ANGELES SKYLINE SUNSET TIME-LAPSE
LA is an interesting place. I get to visit a few times a year for work and I always enjoy my visits but constantly think to myself that I could never live there.
The city is great for time-lapse because of all the constant motion. I especially appreciated the photography gods for sending a blimp to fly around above the city, just for me.

LA SKYLINE
The LA skyline and surrounding area is incredible at night. As much as LA seems to go on forever during the day, it’s 10 fold at night. The lights never stop traveling off into the distance.
This particular visit was cool because of the blimp (the light blob above the right side of downtown) was circling downtown and looked like a spaceship in the dark sky.

LA TRAFFIC
One of the coolest parts of this overlook is the view of the 101. In the evening (this photo) the line of headlights coming toward you stacks up forever. In the morning, the break lights heading away from you do the same thing.

PINK SKY AND PLANES
I like this photo because of the combination of elements. The pink sky, reflecting the sunset off to the right, is beautiful. The two planes heading into LAX adds an interesting element of activity. Finally the cranes of the LA harbor off in the distance are cool looking.

Hollywood Bowl Overlook
I was in LA in January for work. I was lucky enough to sneak away a couple times to take some photos. I’d actually been to this spot at the Hollywood Bowl Overlook a few times but each time before the weather didn’t cooperate. Luckily, this time it did.
The elevation gives you a great perspective on just how large the LA area really is. It seems to go on forever.
