This was my favorite moment of the morning. The sky exploded in color and then slowly faded away as the sun rose higher in the sky.

This is my favorite moment of every sunrise. The sun is large in frame. It’s not too bright yet. It looks like an angry ball of fire climbing into the sky.
Alas, these clouds stole the moment. I do still think it was cool, peeking through.

I wanted to shoot this for a long time. I finally got the time and sun lined up and made it happen one July morning.
The difference between night and morning on Broadway is striking. The peacefulness of the still street, hiding the debauchery of the night before, is amazing.
Also - my favorite ball of fire climbing above the tree line to look down the empty street.

Orange ball of fire rising from a flat ocean.
I will never get tired of this exact photo. I’ve taken it multiple times in different (and some very similar) locations and every time, I’m like a kid in a candy store. The fact that I capture the sun coming over the horizon as a giant ball of fire boggles my mind.

Ball of fire through the clouds
This is my favorite moment of every sunrise and sunset. The moments when the sun peers over the horizon and announces itself as a giant ball of fire.
This one was made unique by the low clouds partially obscuring it from view.

This isn’t the prettiest sunrise but there’s something about it that I really like. The muddy colors and the big orange ball of fire rising above the horizon is still so cool to me.

Sun breaking the horizon from Love Circle.
This is my favorite shot from the time-lapse. I love how the sun looks as it breaks the horizon. Literally a ball of fire rising into the sky. So cool.
