I love the Hollywood Bowl Overlook so much that I went back the next morning for sunrise. The weather gods were fickle this morning. Downtown was shrouded in fog but it led to some amazing colors.

I loved how the clouds were layered here. The clouds in front were dark and moved very quickly. The clouds higher up and farther behind were lit by the sun and moved much slower in the wind.

The neon lights of Broadway shine bright while the streets are empty.
Broadway is an incredible place. Normally packed with people and music pouring out of every honkey tonk. It’s a very fun night out on the town.
But early in the morning before the sun comes up, it’s still and peaceful. The neon lights hum softly as a few employees finish cleaning and locking up for the night.

A moody sky, yet calm waters.
At the end of the pier, amongst the crowd of people fishing, the sun slipped below the horizon obscured by a cloudy sky. Despite the ominous look of the clouds, it was a pleasant evening with calm waters.

First sighting of the Taj Mahal
I traveled to India at the end of December. I’ve always wanted to experience Indian culture and food at the source, but my main motivation for going was to see the Taj Mahal.
You can see parts of the Taj Mahal from different areas around the city but it’s nothing compared to walking through the gates, into the dark interior of the entrance and seeing the beautiful, white shimmering building for the first time.

2018 was a great year. I got to travel across the country and around the world. Here’s my best shots smooshed together into one day.
Thank you to everyone who watched my videos this year. This will be the last video for 2018. I’m off to Tokyo and India. Be on the look out for more videos in the new year.

The first light of dawn.
This week’s series is from late October at Narrows Of The Harpeth. I’ve been to this spot a couple times but never for a sunrise. It’s one of my favorite views and the best part is it’s only a 20 minute drive outside of Nashville.
This was a cold, foggy morning. It was pitch black when I arrived. The orange light slowly crept over the horizon. I love the way the orange light silhouetted the hills in the distance.

Detroit gets a bad rap sometimes but I really enjoyed my visit. From what I saw of downtown, there were a bunch of cool restaurants and hotels. Plus, the skyline from the Canadian side is beautiful.
I wanted to do a time-lapse like this for a long time. I found the perfect day (that turned out not so perfect) and headed to Clingmans Dome in Great Smoky Mountains National Park to capture this.
I spent 6 hours, battled fog and condensation on the lens, to get this time-lapse. It's not perfect but I really like how it turned out.
Have you been to Clingmans Dome before? What's your favorite part?
