This was a very fun time-lapse to shoot. It started out pitch black, gave me beautiful colors, dancing fog and ended with cows. Can’t get much better than that.

Blue sky. Pink Clouds.
There’s a lot going on in this picture. The sky is tall and blue. While the lower clouds are bathed in beautiful pink light. The fog is still dancing around in the distance. And in the lower right corner you can see daylight beginning to reveal the Harpeth River.

The first light of dawn.
This week’s series is from late October at Narrows Of The Harpeth. I’ve been to this spot a couple times but never for a sunrise. It’s one of my favorite views and the best part is it’s only a 20 minute drive outside of Nashville.
This was a cold, foggy morning. It was pitch black when I arrived. The orange light slowly crept over the horizon. I love the way the orange light silhouetted the hills in the distance.

The best part about this park and the hike is that it's only a half hour away from Nashville but you really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The hike is pretty steep but not too bad. And when you get to the top, the view is well worth it.

Narrows Of The Harpeth State Park
This is a great spot right outside of Nashville along the Harpeth River. I ventured out here on a Sunday afternoon after hearing about this spot from a coworker.
It's a pretty secluded spot, but still easily accessible. You even get to drive down a gravel road to feel like you're really out in the wild.
The hike isn't very technical, but it is a very steep grade. Don't fret though, the view from the top is well worth it.
Have you ever been here? Where's your favorite place to go to be with nature?
