Frozen Cummins Falls

Frozen Cummins Falls

Winter Wonderland

February 1, 2018

At the end of a beautiful but cold and wet hike, you get this amazing reward. A winter wonderland of ice and snow. Of flowing water over ledges and levels. Of swirling pools and rocks.

This photo zooms in on the upper portion of the falls. I like how the vertical orientation aligns with the flow of the water and allows you to get a better look at how the water freezes and clings to the rocks.

This photo is a zoom of the left side of the falls. I wanted to highlight this area because it gets less water fall and that allows the ice to accumulate more and have a different feel.

These are my three favorite photos of the day. Let me know what you think.
