South Beach Miami Sunrise Time-Lapse

June 12, 2020

This was a windy January morning. I’ve always loved this part of South Beach. It feels very different from the restaurant and club area that is just a few blocks away.

Pulling up at 6am, you pass the last of the club goers from the night before on their way home. You walk out onto the jetty in the pitch black and the ocean seems to go on forever.

Aside from the birds which are ever present thorn in my side, the only thing I would have changed is the cloud line. The clouds at the horizon crushed the moment of sunrise. Other than that I enjoyed the people moving in and out of frame, the ship that came into port and the wind that continuously swept the clouds from right to left.

SEATTLE TIME-LAPSE 4K

January 24, 2020

Seattle was everything I thought it was going to be. Amazing scenery, great food, nice people, and awesome weather. I really enjoyed this trip and can’t wait to go back.

THE GUM WALL

January 21, 2020

I was more intrigued than grossed out by the great gum wall. I don’t know how it started, why it’s there or why so many people care about it but once I got there, there’s something that made me want to stick around and check out the different types of gum, notes and decorations.

MEAN MARKET

January 20, 2020

Despite being the most iconic of Seattle tourist stops, they are not all that nice to photographers. I had a great spot picked out right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, about to set up my tripod and the fun police swooped in and told me no tripods allowed. Weak.

DOWNTOWN SEATTLE SUNSET

January 13, 2020

My second day in Seattle I wanted to play with the setting sun and the buildings downtown. Most of the time when you see the Seattle skyline, it’s from the opposite direction with the Space Needle included. I wanted to try something different.

I had seen this view from a park just outside downtown. I loved how the highway leads into the city. You get some of the mountains off in the distance and the football stadium off to the left. All with the sun setting in the middle.

At the end of Palisades Park is the famous Santa Monica Pier. Strolling out onto the pier the beach seems to go on forever.

The French Concession

November 6, 2018

Shanghai has a very interesting history of semi-colonization. As part of that there is an area called the French Concession. As the name sounds, it is an area of Shanghai that was run by the french starting in the late 1800s.

This was my second favorite part of Shanghai. It’s has a completely different look to it. The tree lined streets really make you feel like you are walking through Paris.

Nashville's Parthenon Time-lapse

February 26, 2018

We got the first of what most people consider to be nice weather, last week in Nashville. Even though it was cloudy, the temperature was in the 70s and that usually bring people out in throngs. I think that's too hot but that's a different post.

With the "nice" weather and people out, I knew Centennial Park would be packed. I already had planned to catch a sunset over the Parthenon but thought it would add a cool extra feature to have people out and about around the building as well.

Turns out the sunset never developed because of the cloud cover but the people milling around, the clouds moving through and the transition from day to night made for a pretty solid time-lapse.
